“The Wedding Favor” by Caroline Mickelson, review by Daniela Domenici

Caroline has become a pen friend for me after having read and reviewed many of her delicious ebooks of modern tales; this time she has created a particular love story which I have devoured in half a day: it has succeeded in moving and exciting me a lot.
The author is very keen in imagining, basting and weaving the threads of the link between Mateo Ortega and Ava McKenna, who were friends during their adolescence and meet again after ten years; between them a strange relationship arises, at the begininng for a benefic goal (Mateo’s love for his grandfather, his abuelo) then it evolves in something which upsets, destabilizes and in the end colours and enriches the life of the two protagonists.
The dialogues are perfect but, above all, the psycological descriptions of Mateo and Ava and of all the numerous, overwhelming and coloured Ortega family and of Marti, Ava’s best friend, it seems as if we could see and listen to them…it would be nice to transform it in a tv fiction: compliments to Caroline from the bottom of my heart.
