A concert, in streaming on YouTube, for cello and piano from Wigmore Hall in London, review by Daniela Domenici

Wigmore Hall says “Due to unforeseen circumstances, today’s planned concert with Steven Isserlis has been postponed. Instead, we repeat his concert recorded last June with pianist Mishka Rushdie Momen”.

I love classic music and I have just had the great pleasure to see and listen to this beautiful concert, found for chance on YouTube, from Wigmore Hall in London, unfortunately without public due to the pandemic.

The two wonderful soloists were Steven Isserlis with his cello and Mishka Rushdie Momen at the piano. The passion they have put in playing their instruments has arrived directly to my heart despite the screen filter, I have felt as I was in Wigmore Hall with them, thanks!!!

And the programme was:

  • Ludwig van Beethoven (1770-1827) – Cello Sonata in F Op. 5 No. 1
  • Robert Schumann (1810-1856) – 3 Romances Op. 94
  • Gabriel Fauré (1845-1924) – Cello Sonata No. 1 in D minor Op. 109
